Useful information
What does the first visit look like?
First there is a thorough consultation. Questions are asked both about the reason for the visit and, more generally, about lifestyle, work, nutrition and other factors. Next, the function of the joints, muscles and nervous system is examined: assessment of spinal mobility, muscle and nerve tests, orthopaedic and neurological tests.
Then the chiropractor explains to you the nature of the problem, its possible course and the path to a solution. Aa treatment plan is drawn up and, with your consent, treatment begins at the first visit. Chiropractic treatment is very varied, and the appropriate treatment techniques are chosen depending on the patient's problems. These may be, for example: adjustment of the spine and other joints, massage techniques, stretches, home exercises, kinesio taping and many more.
The first visit lasts 40–50 min.
If health examinations (X-ray, MRI, etc.) have been done in the last couple of years, it is good to send me their descriptions by email at least a day before the visit (you log in at www.terviseportaal.ee).
What do the follow-up visits look like?
At follow-up visits chiropractic treatment is carried out, home exercises are reviewed and new ones given if needed, and advice is provided on work ergonomics and lifestyle topics.
A follow-up visit lasts 20–30 min.
The number of follow-up visits and the speed of recovery depend entirely on the nature, chronicity and complexity of the problem. Recovery is affected, for example, by: previous traumas, illnesses, degenerative changes, smoking, lifestyle, exercise, workload, sleep, stress. Every patient is individual, and therefore the treatment and its course are individual too.
